The Reel Academy Our Vision INSPIRE Young Adults In Transition towards a CAREER in filmmaking and bring a sense of value to their OWN stories. A 6 week interactive program on the set of an actual feature film! Experience how a story is told; first written, then produced for the screen as a feature film. WEEK 1  Orientation, purpose, protocol, schedule, transportation, goals  Intro to writer, orientation of storytelling through a screenplay  Writer Session: screenplay development process WEEK 2  Intro to director with vision of script interpretation  Intro to actors with vision of character interpretation WEEK 3-4  On set: intro to director of photography with vision of photographing story  On set: intro to lighting designer with vision for lighting photography  On set: intro to electricians, grips  On set: intro to set design and art directors  On set: intro to hair, make-up, wardrobe  On set: intro to sound mixer, boom operator  On set: observing director working with actors WEEK 5  Intro to SOUND (effects, editing and music)  Recording Studio: intro to composer  Recording Studio: intro to sound designer  Editing Suite: intro to editor WEEK 6  Group works with project writer to each tell individual stories; writing, rehearsing, performing!!!  Interviews with KTLA television Anchor Asha Blake Transportation provided by The REEL Academy! Following Program: 2-week internships with entertainment-related companies. Group chaperoned to Hollywood screening of the film Our Mission BRIDGE the CRAFT of story-telling-through-filmmaking to “at-risk” Young Adults In Transition The Program!
