Our Program What’s it all ABOUT The REEL Academy charity has been launched to change lives of "at-risk" Young Adults in Transition to adulthood and help them find a path into a successful career in the filmmaking industry.  These students will participate in a 6-week program that will enable them to interact with the department heads on the set of an actual feature film production. They will learn what each department does and how it contributes to the overall production of the film. The students will learn how the department heads got their start in the industry and what it took them personally to make a career out of it. After the on-set production, the students will observe and work with the editor, composer and post production supervisor. Following the completion of the program, 2-week internships with entertainment-related companies and the students will be chaperoned to a Hollywood screening of the film.
